CAGE Glossary
CAGECap analysis of gene expression.
CAGE CloneThe clone of CAGE. A clone which has CAGE Tag concatemer.
CAGE LibraryThe library of CAGE. A collection of RNA Libraries which individually constructed by CAGE method.
CAGE TagThe sequence tags of CAGE. CAGE tags are approx. 20bp of 5'-end of the transcripts.
CAGE TissueThe tissue material name of RNA samples which usually based on EMAP or eVOC term name.
CTSSCAGE tag starting site.
Gene SymbolUnique abbreviation for the gene name.
Gene SynonymA synonym of gene symbol.
Gene(mRNA)The basic unit of hereditary information. CAGE mRNA is product of transcription of a gene from RTPS.
Linker MethodThe method of CAGE Library construction which distinguished from the type of linker primer.
Primer TypeThe type of primer which used in cDNA construction.
RNA LibraryA collection of RNA samples.
Riken Clone IDID of RIKEN full-length cDNA clone.
TCTag Cluster. CAGE tags, 18nt clustered long-SAGE and 5'-end 20nt of dbtss overlapping region, from 5'-end to 3'-end most.
TKTranscript frameworK. A group of transcripts that map to the same genomic region, are on the same strand, that share some sort of exon structure. Members may have different transcriptional start sites (TSS) and polyadenylation signals (PAS).
TSSTranscription start site. Current use TC as TSS, see also TC.
TUTranscriptional Unit. Current CAGE is using only TU (no-use TK).
Theiler StageOne of a standard set of stages describing mouse development.
